I know I touched on this subject before but haven't actually taken a picture of it. Solo. Dance. Parties. I love them. They are vital to my survival. Here is a list of things that add awesomeness to dancing by yourself:
1. If you are about to go out with friends and do something fun, they are automatically more awesome.
2. If you have started predrinking by yourself.
3. If you are wearing the least amount of clothing possible without actually being naked (let's face it, your bits don't look hot when you dance naked and things shake that you wish didn't).
4. If there is a really large mirror and can see how bad your own dancing is or maybe how good it is.
5. If you have your iPod on shuffle and a really great song like bootylicious randomly comes on (guilty pleasure).
6. If you have just worked out and looked more toned then you do normally.
7. If you have a random piece of furniture to dance on top of like you are a stripper or like you are on stage at a club.
So there it is. I like to dance on my ottoman in front of a really large mirror in my living room. Sometimes my neighbours look in when I forget to close the curtains and are slightly mortified. This is what I was dancing too tonight. It is currently my favourite song... Woooooo that's good!
I am using this blog as more of a journal on my path to self discovery. I would like to share different ideas and questions I have on my journey to living my best life.

My Best Life - Day 23
I had a conversation with a friend yesterday that went something like this:
Me: I have like a 1000 books I need to read right now.
Friend: Oh ya. What books.
Me: The Road Less Travelled, the new Seth Godin, Stumbling on Happiness, the new Robin Sharma.... (thoughts: okay maybe not 1000)
Friend: Awesome. You should read them then.
Me: Ya but I am in the middle of Stumbling on Happiness and I just can't get into it.
Friend: Then stop reading it and start reading something else.
Me: Ya but I really want to finish.
Friend: uhhhhh *blank stare*
Oh there was also some sort of ramblings about how I want to read them I don't have to read them etc..... but since this happened in the past and I don't remember all the details you get the new version that my head created. I am not sure if my version, the real version, or the version my friend remembers makes me appear less ridiculous soooo we will just go with my version for now.
So needless to say I started reading The Road Less Travelled today and I think it is going to be a game changer. Seems great. The first chapter already made me feel lazy and I cleaned half my house and have plans to continue to the other half tomorrow. Win. As a side note if you haven't been to the crazy used book store downtown Midland you should probably go. I feel like it is actually another dimension and would like to discuss further with friends :).

My Best Life - Day 22
I will go ahead and put today in the awesome category. I wasn't on a beach, or at a concert and nothing really out of the ordinary happened but the little things about today are what made it so good.
I got to go to the Packet for a meeting this morning, which is great because most of my friends happen to work there. Getting paid to hang out at the P & T brings me great joy. Actually the last few years of working there were unreal. I didn't fully appreciate it at the time but I miss it... a lot!
Obviously being in Orillia I made a pit stop at Mariposa Market for a French roast coffee. It is the best coffee I have ever had. Okay that is a lie, the best coffee I ever had was on the beach every morning in Costa Rica. It is the second best coffee I have ever had. Any time I have the opportunity to stop in and grab a cup I totally take advantage of it. You would be surprised how good you can feel just from having a cup of coffee.
So this meeting I attended was with all the publishers and ad managers in the region and they have worked in the company for a long time. They know more then me and were much more prepared for this meeting then I was. My first instinct was to feel embarrassed at my unpreparedness but I realized that this was a great learning experience for me. Having these meetings will make me better at my job. I need to stop worrying about not knowing everything and just start learning from my mistakes.
After the meeting I got to stop in and visit a friend for 20 minutes, win! He made me a delicious latte. It was so good that I even took the last sip and for the record I don't take the last sip of anything (random weird fact about me). It grosses me out but I was too involved in how good it was to notice.
Getting to the picture, I went to crossfit tonight and finally after a month or so of not really being into it finally got my groove back. I lifted the 24 kg kettlebell for the first time today.... 100 times. It wasn't pretty and I need to work on them for sure but I did it. I also did 100 pull-ups and 200 double unders. In the last round my hand shredded and skin flew off my hands, it was spectacular.
So all in all, it was pretty much what I do everyday with a twist. I feel so lucky that my everyday life makes me this happy. Cheers!

My Best Life - Day 21
So incase you missed it today my friend Trace wrote a really nice blog about me and I didn't even pay her. Win. It is like a mini profile of how great I am. How awesome is that? So my first instinct when receiving a compliment is to always counter act it with bad things about myself, trust me my inner monologue found a lot of things. Instead I am going to spare it and just say THANK YOU instead because this was the most excellent way to start off my week :)
My Best Life - Day 20
Wow day 20 already. Crazy. Well Sunday is family day for me so as usual the best part of my Sunday is hanging out with family. Here is a picture of my dad and nephew, isn't my nephew so cute? Yep, he is. He is trying not to laugh at my dad being well my dad haha! As much as we all try to deny it my dad is pretty funny. Love my family to bits xoxo

My Best Life - Day 19
I know a lot of my blogs are about food but I really like to eat. Not to mention I got bed sores from the amount of time I spent in bed today. I have this really quirky thing that I can't get out of bed until I decide what I am going to do all day and in which order I am going to do them. Obviously only on the weekends. This is better when I stay at other people's houses and they bring me coffee or breakfast to bed until I have decided or until they kick me out. I didn't get much done today that is for sure. Briefly I did get out of bed to eat though.
Today I made eggs over easy and got the perfect flip. Nothing curled, nothing broke, it was awesome. See picture to the left. They were cooked to perfection too.

My Best Life - Day 18
There is nothing better then capping off the work week with a work out and a good meal. Best Life for sure. Honestly though, I barely worked out today. I did however enjoy lots of delicious food including dessert and this coffee martini. Mmmm. The best part of the night though was getting to hang out with awesome friends. I am super lucky in that I have found such amazing people to hang out with in Midland. The food was soooo good, the company was fantastic and the server was pretty hilarious. All and all I don't think there is any better way to spend a Friday night. Now I am curled up in bed and going to sleep smiling. :)
