I relearned a really good lesson today about how expectations can really take away from great experiences. I was expecting a package in the mail today that really meant a lot to me, I had planned my whole day around how awesome it was going to be to open it. I had planned the picture I was going to take, the blog I was going to write and all the people I was going to send messages to...... and then it never came. Well at least not to me, Canada Post has successfully delivered it somewhere. So when 5 pm hit and I didn't get it, I was bummed. Even though I don't write really long blogs on here everyday I do put a lot of thought into what I am going to write. Plus this mystery item was going to be the start of a fun adventure for me.
What was even more of a bummer was that I spent all day so caught up in this that I missed all the great things that happened. Today one of my employees bought me a coffee out of the blue and I really, really appreciated that but took it for granted. I also had a random convo at lunch with someone I think is really awesome. Too bad I missed it all in the moment. I didn't give it my full presence at the time, my mind was somewhere else. Note to self: it is really fun to have things to look forward too as long as they don't take away from experiencing all the amazing things that are happening right now.
I did manage to catch one really epic thing on camera, me taking a much needed nap. Naps seem to be a really rare occurrence in my life these days so this was great. I gave up going to the gym but it was totally worth it :)!
